Monday, October 31st - 10am-11am
Summer Street School
We have a few updates for this event:
Students will walk around the perimeter of the building (rather than the SSS rear field) if the weather is cooperative.
In case of inclement weather, we will hold the parade indoors. In that case, parents will be invited into the school to line the hallways of the parade route.
Masks are not recommended. Masks don't always fit well, and can loosen in five minutes. Since students will be walking for a while, and will likely be distracted by those around them, we want to make sure they can see everything clearly, at all times.
There is no parking at school since this is a school day. Please consider walking or parking on the side streets in a carpool.
Please plan appropriately for this fun school event!
Please remember the following costume requirements:
Please have children BRING their costumes to school (do not wear them) in a clearly labeled bag. They will have time to change in their classrooms, and room parents will be on hand to assist any child who needs help changing into the costume.
Children should have costumes that are easy to put on and take off independently.
For the safety of all the children, please leave toy weapons or sharp objects at home.
Kids should wear safe and comfortable shoes (rather than shoes that go with the costume) - keep in mind they will be walking for about a half hour in their shoes!
Please be mindful of younger children at school when choosing a costume - nothing too scary or gory!
Costumes are optional - students can still take part in the parade if they're not wearing a costume that day.
In the afternoon, children will change out of their costumes and will participate in Fall Fest activities.
Be sure to check our Life at SSS Twitter List on Monday to see updates throughout the day!
